Excellent
Relieved months of lower back pain in just one session. The assessment beforehand was thorough and I knew exactly what to expect. Highly recommended.
The best recovery session I've ever had. Clean, sterile, and they explain everything clearly before starting. You can tell it's not a rushed job.
Very professional and hygienic. I've had Hijama elsewhere before but this was on another level. Felt like a proper clinical experience, not just a quick session.

New to Cupping? Start Here
There are a few different therapies we work with, and most clients benefit from a combination. Here's the simple version.
What is Hijama?
Hijama is a traditional form of wet cupping with deep roots in prophetic and Islamic medicine. It involves light suction followed by small, superficial incisions to draw out stagnant blood and cellular waste. We perform it in a fully sterile, private environment using 100% single-use medical-grade equipment. Nothing is reused. Ever.
Dry & Dynamic Cupping
Cupping without incisions. Suction is used to lift the fascia, increase blood flow, and decompress tight muscle fibres. Dynamic cupping involves gliding the cups with oil, which is particularly effective for larger muscle groups and mobility work. Often combined with Hijama or IASTM depending on what your body needs.
IASTM / Muscle Scraping
Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation. We use medical-grade steel tools to break down scar tissue and fascial adhesions that hands alone can't reach. It's not gentle, but it's effective. We combine it with cupping and manual work for a more complete recovery.
Does It Hurt?
Most clients describe cupping as a mild pulling sensation. It's not painful. The circular marks left afterwards look dramatic but they're not bruises. They're a normal response and typically fade within 3 to 7 days. Every session is tailored to your comfort level, and we walk you through everything before we start.
Seen Cupping on Social Media?
That's fair if you're not sure what to make of it. There's a lot of content out there that doesn't represent the therapy well. What we'd say is this: cupping has thousands of years of history and genuine clinical interest behind it.
What actually matters is the environment it's performed in, the training of the person doing it, and the care taken before, during, and after. That's what we focus on here. If you've got questions, we're always happy to talk you through it before you commit to anything.
What You're Actually Paying For
We know there are cheaper options out there. We're not trying to compete with them. Here's what a session with us looks like compared to what's common elsewhere.
What's Common Elsewhere
What We Do Differently
Problems We Commonly Help With
If something's been bothering you and other treatments haven't quite sorted it, this is what we see most often.
Lower Back Pain & Stiffness
If you've tried massage and it hasn't shifted your lower back stiffness, targeted cupping works deeper into the tissue layers. We combine dry cupping with myofascial release to decompress the area and get things moving again.
Neck & Shoulder Tension
The kind of tightness that builds up from desk work, driving, or just daily life. Focused soft tissue work on the upper traps, levator scapulae and surrounding areas. Most clients feel a noticeable difference after one session.
Gym Recovery & Mobility
Cupping and IASTM help clear the waste that builds up after heavy training, reduce delayed onset soreness, and improve joint range of motion. Useful for anyone training regularly who wants to recover faster between sessions.
First-Time Hijama & General Wellbeing
If you've been meaning to try Hijama for a while, this is a safe and professional place to start. We walk you through everything, tailor the session to your body, and make sure you're comfortable throughout. No rush, no pressure.
Abdus Shahid
Lead Practitioner
I opened Herts Cupping because there was genuinely nowhere in Hertfordshire offering this at the standard I believed it should be done. I'd seen too many places cutting corners on hygiene, rushing clients through, and treating Hijama like a production line.
Every session here is with me, personally. I take the time to understand what's going on with your body, build a plan around it, and make sure you leave with clear aftercare. I don't take multiple clients at once. I don't hand you off to someone else. This is a small clinic by design, because I'd rather do fewer sessions properly than more sessions badly.
For female clients, we have a dedicated female practitioner who provides Hijama in a comfortable, fully private setting.
What Every Session Looks Like
Assessment
We talk through your goals, symptoms, and medical history before anything begins. This is how we make sure the session is right for you and that we're working on the right areas.
Treatment
A tailored session using the combination of techniques that makes sense for your body. Whether that's Hijama, dry cupping, IASTM, or manual therapy, we explain everything as we go.
Aftercare
You leave with clear, written guidance on what to expect, how to look after any marks, and what to do (and avoid) in the days after your session. We're always a message away if you have questions.
If You've Been Thinking About It, Let's Talk
No pressure to book straight away. If you want to ask a few questions first, or you're not sure which treatment is right for you, just drop us a message. We're happy to help you figure it out.
